the jars have a pretty good seal, but not perfect. i used them to make kimchi and noticed that some juice came dripping from the lid. probably good for less intense storage though.

As mentioned they are not airtight, but they look very nice. I like items with steel. They dont seem of such high quality but for storing pasta that's more than enough! I'd buy it again without any hesitation

I wasn't as impressed with these canisters as I had hoped, not for the price. They have the look I wanted, but not the quality I had hoped. They are very light and the top piece is cheap plastic. I have compared them to some I had almost purchased at Bed, Bath ; Beyond. For the same price, I could've got heavy duty containers with glass tops. But they do seal well, so they perform their main purpose. Also, be careful when washing them (I recommend hand washing, I don't think they will withstand a dishwasher), the water kind of gets trapped between top piece and the rubber ring that seals the cannister. You have to dry really well or watdr will leak into the cannister.
65% Satisfaction

I love a good airtight container, and these are really great. The only kind like these that I ever see are usually plastic, and I don't want plastic. Granted the lids are ACRYLIC (not "cheap plastic" like one review said), but as long as they are BPA free, I don't mind. I'm a penny pincher as much as I can be, and I found this set at Salvation Army for 6 dollars, they are in brand new condition, and I know they will last me a good long time, while keeping my baking ingredients tightly sealed =)

Some memories of childhood are delightful. This one is--The candy jar that sat on the counter near the cash register (yes, back in the day) and if you had a couple of pennies, you plopped them on the counter to pay for a reach into the candy jar for your turn of sugary delights.
Now I want one for my kitchen counter for my Pretend Children. I think they will love it But first I must investigate what their favorites are.

I thought that it was for some reason- but apparently I didnt really read the part that says plastic. It really is so close that you can barely tell the difference. I really like it.

This is an attractive way to store just about anything. We are trying to get away from plastic storage for food because of potential adverse health affects and were looking for a substantial size for dog food. This holds almost the entire bag (I think it was 15 lb bag). Only negative is that we've had some difficulty with the handle (which you assemble yourself). It doesn't fit tightly so I don't use it to lift it any longer. Other than that, it's great.

A bit awkward assembling the cover and handle, but otherwise very nice product... sturdy and the right size for storing vinegar.
