These storage jars, though promised to be air tight and leak-proof are definately NOT. The gasket is too small to get a good seal.
I have called the maufacturer (Housewares International) and I am trying to get a solution to the problem....disappointed.

The lid is flimsy and weak, However I bought it for use as a suntea jar so that should be ok. I would not try to use it for food storage of anything but drygoods but for the cheap price it is a fair deal.UPDATEThe lid leaks terribly Iam very annoyed!
